Debra is someone we learned to deeply trust and truly appreciate both as an agent and as an individual
11 May 11 01:18 PM

We chose Debra to handle the sale of our home as we were relocating from Oakville to Montreal because of her deep knowledge of the real estate market as well as her professionalism. We knew from her initial presentation, with her previous business experience, that our home would be well marketed and that she would offer us the level of customer service we expected from a real estate agent. Through the whole process, her devotion to her customers was well beyond what we had anticipated. She was thorough in her follow-ups and would keep us advised of the activity in the market. Although we had a property management company looking after the house, she watched over our home and the work for the property management company we had hire in our absence as if we had been there. Having Debra gave us great peace of mind because in the midst of having to move, relocating the family and starting new jobs, we knew that someone was watching out for us. Beyond everything else, Debra gave us advice and would always ensure to put our interests before her own.

Debra is someone we have learned to deeply trust and truly appreciate both as an agent and as an individual. We are extremely happy to have chosen her to sell our home. She has been outstanding and we strongly recommend her services to everyone.   Karine Abgrall and Pascal Chouinard

Debra is a very special, perhaps unique realtor

Over the years, I’ve dealt with many (different kinds of) realtors and every time I’ve had a bad experience, except with Debra Curran. Debra is a very special, perhaps unique, realtor in that she works in your interest in a tangible straight up way. So when you’re choosing a broker it’s obvious she has your interests at heart, and when the deal is done, you can look back and say... a job well done! Thanks Debra Curran!

Hi Debra, I just want to take few minutes to thank you for all your help and support on past few months. Your knowledge of the Canadian housing market and experience was very important to help us selling our home. Moving out to another country wasn't easy but you help us a lot providing the support needed to maintain and sell our home. You really understood our needs and despite the fact that we were already living abroad, our selling process was very smooth, that really demonstrates how much competent and professional you are and we would recommend your service to anyone. Once again, Thank you for all your help and excellent services!  Best Regards  Andrea & Fernando

Hi Debra, I don't think I thanked you enough for being one SUPER realtor for finding me a home that I love. And thank-you to your manager for that very considerate letter. Kudos to you and your profession. Kala Govindasamy

Choosing our real estate agent
19 October 09 02:54 PM

Choosing a real estate agent was new for us. We had been in the same home for 18 years and knew what we wanted but needed the experience that Debra offered. We were impressed with Debra when she was conducting an open house and immediately felt that she would be able to provide us with the knowledge and business savvy to help us sell our home and find a new one.

Debra helped us to prepare our house, offering detailed recommendations and even was there with the photographer to ensure that the home showed well. Her diligence resulted in multiple offers. Her guidance she offered helped us to properly consider each of the offers to make the right decision. This was invaluable to us as first time sellers and provided us with the insights we needed to quickly sell our house over asking price.

In finding a new home for us she tirelessly went through homes on sale and really understood what we were looking for. As a result we are now enjoying our new home and can say that the buying and selling experience was extremely pleasant. We would highly recommend Debra for either side of the real estate transaction. Buying a Home with Debra Curran
19 October 09 02:24 PM

We just wanted to drop you a line to say how pleasurable it was to have you represent us when we were purchasing our home. When Mary Ann and I had questions, you were just a phone call away. Even when we thought we had found a "Dream Home " you were there to guide us through the Trials and Tribulations eventually steering us to finding that perfect house. You had a no-nonsense approach to starting the negotiation to purchase that put both of us at ease as we knew you were there to watch out for our best interests. When our friends ask us about the process we went through, all we can say is " It was Great ".  We have given your contact information to other people as we are confident they would receive the same professional service  you gave us. WE LOVE OUR HOME, Thanks again for everything Debra, Dan Pickles, Area Sales Manager, Western Region Weston Bakeries/Ready Bake Foods

Debra Curran was our selling and buying agent during the most difficult economic period in recent history. Her tremendous insight in the housing market was a valuable resource to us.  She thoroughly understands the buying and selling process and is able to explain all aspects in a clear manner.  Her high level of negotiation skills reflect the many years of experience she brings to the table. She is sensitive, pleasant to work with and extremely diligent. Janice Tuffnail, Senior Treasury and Portfolio Manager Region of Peel

"Debra Curran is an excellent realtor"
19 October 09 02:20 PM

Debra is an excellent realtor and I wouldn't deal with anyone else in the future.  She was very professional yet very personable.  She's very passionate about what she does and it shows with how she interacts with her clients.

She always kept in mind the circumstances that I faced and gave great advice when helping to sell my home, always only giving advice that she herself would take.  She suggested small things that I could do to help maximize the selling price of my home, which she successfully did while in the midst of a slowdown in the market!  I also used Debra's services in finding a new home and, as always, she took into consideration all the things that I was looking for in a home.  She offered many options that met all the criteria and helped me to balance the trade-offs when there were options that didn't always meet all the criteria. She not only focused on my present needs but also kept in mind what the home could offer me in the future as a potential investment. I couldn't be happier with her services and highly recommend her to anyone!"  Isabelle Hastie | Client Strategy Analyst, Customer Information Management, RBC Royal Bank | Royal Bank of Canada

Debra, you wouldn't believe this...for a long time I've been telling Remee that we should do some changes/move things around which she did not agree with and which most of my recommendations were the same as yours.  Remee came down when I was all done last night and had just loved the way things looked (so much bigger and beautiful, I can live with this she said). I've been saying the same thing for years now and it took you one hour! WOW. “Our success is all due to your remarkable ability in the Real Estate market and your patience, thoughtfulness and understanding with your clients. Thanks again! “ Richard R. John Emsley - "Debra Curran is truly one of a kind"
19 October 09 02:16 PM

Debra Curran is truly one of a kind in the vast sea of real estate agents.    Nowhere will you find someone in this highly competitive field that cares so much about her clients. She's a great listener and will do her utmost to satisfy your needs but she's not shy in suggesting alternatives when she believes it's in your best interest.

She did such a thorough job in buying and selling our previous homes that I called her back three and a half years later to do it again.  Our experience the 2nd time around with Debra was even more positive as she provided great advice on preparing the home and featured its best rooms and traits beautifully on her user friendly website, MLS and in stunning hard copy brochures. She also kept us involved every step of the way and her suggested pricing, home prep and advertising strategy helped us sell quickly and secure a price that was beyond our expectation. This was no small feat when you consider she pulled this off in one of the toughest markets we've seen in decades.    She was a fabulous negotiator in all of our purchase and sales.  She's tough but always the consummate professional.  She's great at reading people and can disarm anyone with her sense of humour, expert knowledge  and winning smile.

If you want the best price for your home and want a worry free experience, whether buying or selling, go with  Debra Curran.  John and Julie Emsley, Mississauga, Ontario

Buying and Selling a House with Debra Curran
19 October 09 02:08 PM

I used Debra to both sell and buy my homes, when I met her for the first time she was so grounded and not a ‘pushy’ type of sales person. After talking with her and hearing how she worked, it was a given that she was going to be my agent. She pays attention to detail and wants to understand your needs, it’s not about her, she is all about her clients. She wants to provide you with the best possible outcome. In selling my house, she was instrumental in ‘staging’ the house to allow it to show it’s true potential, that even meant re-painting walls and with reluctance but true faith it was done. Re-arranging your home is stressful but Debra kept re-assuring me that this is how to get the maximum show ability and it worked.

When it came time to negotiate the deal Debra was there with her calm and collected demeanor, she goes into the negotiation 100% committed to you and getting the best price, her ongoing communication with me and the ‘What next steps’ to take advice was so helpful and re-assuring that the deal came off so smoothly.

When it came time to buy, Debra again gave me all her focus and attention to understand what I wanted in a home and even though I may have not been clear - she already knew, because she really listens and gets to know you so she has that idea of what type of place you will be happy in to suit you, your lifestyle and your budget. We looked at many homes but she knew as soon as we walked through the front door of one that ‘This was it’ and she was not wrong, I bought it, we had a tough negotiation but Debra persevered and really went to bat for me, knowing we could not let this on get away. It was tense times but Debra kept me calm and always kept the communication open to what was going on both sides. To end this great story my new home became the talk of her office, as during the home inspection we found that “Surprise” in the attic above the garage and not even THAT could phase her – as we both knew this still was the house for me.  Thanks Debra for all you hard work, it was such an enjoyable experience. Iain Hastie,  RBC, Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto, Ontario

Thank you from the Ligieza Family - to Debra Curran
19 October 09 02:05 PM

Buying a home can be a complicated and stressful endeavor.   When my husband and I decided to look for a new house, we soon discovered we weren’t quite sure what we were looking for.  For two years we attempted to do it on our own, looking through MLS, going to open houses and never being able to find what we wanted.  We were about to give up and stay put when we met Debra. We immediately fell for her charm and friendly personality and asked her to be our agent.  It was the best thing we could have done.  We can honestly say that Debra is the perfect agent.

She puts you first, makes you a priority and treats you like her only client.  She listened to our wants and really paid attention to our needs.  When Debra showed us properties, she was always enthusiastic and never made us feel rushed or pressured.   She was always available to us, had the time to answer all of our questions and returned all of our emails and calls immediately. Her skills and knowledge of the local market and the purchasing process were invaluable.  When we found our perfect home,  just a few months later, Debra guided us every step of the way in putting in an offer, negotiating with the seller, and getting our offer accepted in a very short time.

One of her strongest assets, and where she really shines, is her negotiating skills.  She fought for us and got us the best possible deal.   During all of this, she ensured everything went well during an anxious period, comforting us and allaying any concerns we had.  Once our offer was accepted, Debra utilized her contacts, helped us with the inspection and offered good consultation on the remainder of the process.  When the time came to sell our old house, we were full of confidence knowing that we had Debra on our side.  She actually exceeded expectations and brought much more to the table then we could have asked for.  She gave us advice and made suggestions on preparing for the sale and making small improvements to our home in order to maximize our profit.  Debra always kept us involved in the process and had respect for our input, consulting and working with us on every decision.  This was so helpful because we actually felt quite in control of the whole process.  Because of Debra’s knowledge and negotiating skills we ended up selling our home for a price very close to what we paid for the new one (which is twice as big!).

We can’t express just how grateful we are, that Debra was a part of the whole experience.  We could not have asked for anyone better to work with.  Debra is a hardworking agent that will look out for you and your best interests and not see you as a “commission cheque”. Miroslaw & Grazyna Ligieza

257 Royal Oak Court, College Park, Sold in one day!

Welcome to College Park! A lovely community in the heart of Oakville. Situated on a quiet court - this large four bedroom home features four BIG bedrooms and very large principal rooms. Up until recently, it seemed to me that many people didn't seem to know much about this community and assumed that the condo buildings near to Sheridan College were essentially all that the area was about, yet, go a little deeper into the area, and suddenly despite just being minutes away from Oakville Place, the GO Station, and the QEW, you are suddenly in this quiet community that is home to Oakville Golf Club, excellent local schools including the highly regarded White Oaks Secondary School which is the only Oakville site to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma. In addition the the local schools, the community boasts a core that has a public swimming pool, rec centre and library. Nestled to the north of the community there are four distinct courts, each with beautiful homes, large lots and a variety of ravine properties. 257 Royal Oak is one of these coveted streets. Rarely do homes come on the market and when they do, they often sell immediately as was the case with this home. There were a lot of very disappointed people and one very happy young couple who will be joining this lovely community this summer.  If you don't want to miss anymore of the best listings, call me today and I will get you set up on an automatic email list to get information the very day something good comes on the market!  call me today at 905 845-4267 or email debracurran@royallepage.ca  www.debracurran.ca - Debra Curran for all your Oakville Real Estate needs!

Just listed! This custom home is absolutely gorgeous! Built four years ago it has absolutely beautiful. From the moment you step into the entrance hall you are "wowed". Soaring ceilings capped by a magnificent skylight are your first impression. Honestly, it's a "wow". I had 24 agents through on my open house the feedback was terrific. I know I'm very particular about all of my clients and all of my listings, and this beauty is no exception. The family room and kitchen span the entire back of the open with four sets of French doors leading to a deck that overlooks the pool. Just off of popular Lee's Lane, it's a fantastic location - walking distance to schools and near to downtown Oakville, Bronte and Coronation Park.

What is so wonderful about this house is that it is consistent. The gorgeous finishes are throughout the home. Forestview Trail Has Sold

What a popular street! We had so many inquires on this property, the only drawback was the fact that many people were looking for a four bedroom home and this home is only a three bedroom. Still, it sold very quickly and I am certain if it was a four bedroom it would have sold in multiples. The West Oak Trail's market is hot!!!! I wish I had a four bedroom listing on this street!

Forestview Trail - West Oak Trails, Oakville

Just listed! A lovely three bedroom home in West Oak Trails. This beauty is on a lovely street and is a perfect family home. I know I'm biased about my listings (I think they are all wonderful), but what struck me was when I arrived on a beautiful fall day to put my sign on the lawn I had the chance to chat with several neighbours, and I was honestly so impressed by the great feeling there is on that street. As neighbours raked leaves, they came over to chat. Laughingly putting in requests for the "new neighbours". It's definintely a child friendly street and one gets the feeling pretty quickly that these people all know and like each other - most importantly, you really get the feeling they look out for each other - something that isn't all that common in today's busy world.

There is a significant show of pride on this tree lined street, as all the homes are lovingly cared for with great landscaping and different homes (for once a street where the houses don't all look exactly the same!).

West Oak Trails was designed to be a great community, schools are nearby, shopping is minutes away and the area abounds with walking trails, ravines and parks. But, like anywhere, some pockets just "feel" different. And, Forestview is one of those pockets.

2145 Forestview is a pretty home. Beautifully landscaped it has great curb appeal. Once inside, it feels so fresh and clean. Just painted in designer neutral tones and gorgeous light hardwood, give the home a wonderful warm feel. Also, one real bonus, is the lot.....it's not easy to find a pool sized lot at this price point, and this backyard can easily take a pool or some fantastic landscaping.

An impresssive staircase leads to the second floor, where you get a great sense of openness. The Master Bedroom is very large and has a lovely walk-in closet (with a window which is a huge bonus in a closet). It also has a fantastic bathroom beautifully decorated with a lovely soaker tub and second shower.  The second bath is also a generous size and two other bedrooms complete the home. Affordable Home in Southwest Oakville

There's no question it is getting pretty difficult to find a home in southern Oakville that's affordable AND updated. Values have consistently risen throughout Oakville. Now that Southeast Oakville, has become almost impossible to find a detached home that is livable (rather than a tear down valued only for the land), buyers are rediscovering the beauty of west Oakville. This lovely community has everything going for it, location (Close to Bronte GO station) proximity to the Lake and to fabulous parks like Coronation Park. The schools are great, the sense of community is fabulous and the area is still affordable. Of course there are plenty of homes that  while situated on beautiful lots, still require plenty of updating. Prices are all over the map, but generally speaking anything under four hundred thousand is probably going to need some work.

Then there's 2050 Seabrook Drive, a beautiful home situated on a quiet street with virtually no through traffic and across from a park. This lovely home is priced at 409,000 and has been completely updated. There are three bedrooms on the upper level and a gorgeous modern bath. The main floor has a good sized living and dining room and a newly updated kitchen with new floors, solid wood cabinets, granite counter tops and all new stainless steel appliances has a walkout to a lush backyard with a large deck, covered gazebo and lots of privacy.  The bonus, is that because this home is a sidesplit rather than the bungalows that are typical of the area, you also get a full level just a few steps downstairs with a family room, fourth bedroom (or office) laundry room and another full bath. There's even an entrance to the backyard on this level.

The entire home is freshly painted and has hardwood throughout. The mechanics of the home (windows, furnace and roof) are less than eight years old which means there truly is nothing to do but just move in and enjoy all that Oakville has to offer. Of course, it goes without saying that gems like these don't last long, so if you're comtemplating a move to southern Oakville, don't delay, give me a call today and I'd be very proud to show you this lovely home!

Falgarwood

Situated on the east side of Trafalgar and with the QEW as the southern border and Upper Middle Road as the northern border, this family friendly neighbourhood is pretty much in the centre of it all. Known for its maturity, Falgarwood is a lush community with lots of green space, ravines and parks. Home to many of Oakvilles finest schools including small community schools and Sheridan College, this is a neighbourhoods filled with children walking to school and playing in parks.

The homes range from stacked townhouses to  detached 2 storeys, but this is also a community where bungalows and sidesplits are in high demand. Oakville Place and transportation including GO Transit and the QEW are just minutes away. Of course, if your destination is downtown Oakville or the lake it's a short ride south on Trafalgar to get there.

It's not unusual to find young people who were raised in Falgarwood moving back to raise their families in this fabulous neighbourhood! And it's not surprising that many of the properties last only days before they are snapped up by families eager to move into this lovely neighbourhood.

Great Home In Falgarwood  Great Neighbourhood • 3 bath, 4 bdrm single story - MLS® $409,000 - Great Value!

Falgarwood, Oakville  -  This lovely neighbourhood has it all, great schools, fantastic location at Trafalgar and the QEW close to the GO Station and highways as well as shopping. It's minutes to downtown Oakville and the lake. What I like most about the area is how established it is. Many people have lived there for years and the areas boasts beautiful trees, parks and walking paths and fantastic schools. Many people who grew up in the neighbourhood are moving back with their new families and the sense of community and belonging is very strong.

I'm proud of my most recent listing in Falgarwood, it is a warm and inviting 4 bedroom backsplit. Perfect for a family or as an alternative to a bungalow. This home has it all! Separate living and dining rooms, eat in kitchen, spacious family room with a walk out to a gorgeous backyard! It has four bedrooms, a semi ensuite off the master, a main floor laundry and a beautiful finished basement. It has a double garage, fenced backyard with a wood deck and interlock patio. The basement has a work area, cedar closet and a separate kitchen. It is a pleasure to represent this home and I know it won't last long! To quote a few of my colleagues "it's a LOT of house for the money!"

Sherwood Heights!
Somewhere between Mississauga and Oakville is a wonderful little community that few seem to know about. It's right on the border of Mississauga and is the furthest eastern boundary of Oakville. What makes it so special ? Just ask anyone who commutes to downtown Toronto! Minutes to the Clarkson GO Station you can actually walk or bike there. The downside, is that there are no local Public Schools but....here's the upside - your children are bused to some of Oakvilles very best schools including the very popular Oakville Trafalgar. This community is what I feel personally, is a perfectly planned neighbourhood - homes range from lovely townhouses to spacious four and five bedroom homes. In fact many people moving into the community have no intention of leaving even when they're ready for the next step in a home. My two current listings are on a lovely street - Springfield Crescent and they're just different enough to make it difficult to choose between the two! If you don't know where Sherwood Heights is, perhaps it's time you did!!!

There are three other bedrooms on this level - one with it's own ensuite and the other two share a lovely bright bathroom. The laundry rooom is also conveniently located on this level.

The basement continues the trend of beautiful finishes. Downstairs features limestone floors hallway, full bath, two more bedrooms and a large media/recreation room.  Check out the photos and the virtual tour at www.debracurran.ca or call me today for a personal viewing of this lovely home!
